Another personal website

I've been spending a lot of time on a new website of late, but this one is a bit different, it's on a subject a lot closer to home; the website for my upcoming wedding which is taking place in 6 months time! At first, it was more of a way for my fiancée to keep me occupied and out of the way, but it's actually turned into something quite useful. You see, me and my wonderful other half live in London, but we're actually going to be having our wedding in Lymington, and the brides family are all living in or around Southampton, so it's a bit difficult to meet up often to go over guest lists and arrange things like catering. The website has turned into a place where we can do that more easily. It's been fun as I can really just build it however I want.

It has given me a chance to play about a bit with the 3rd generation of the Google Maps API which is a lot easier to use than it's first iteration (I'd not really used version 2 much) although they still haven't addressed the issue of the whole Latitude & Longitude thing in a nice way that doesn't require a whole extra bunch of code. That's not a huge problem though, as there are plenty of ways to get those coordinates, and it does really make sense to use them rather than other less accurate methods. Overall, I'm pleased with the way it's turning out, and hopefully it should be launching in just a few days!
